WHEN YOU STAY SILENT TOO LONG
For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. 1 Samuel 3:13 (KJV)
Eli was a priest, but he was also a father. He was afraid to speak up when he saw his sons dishonor God. He didn’t correct them but just ignored them. Maybe correction felt too hard, too late, or too risky. But silence, even in love, can sometimes cause more harm than good.
Beloved, God has given you a voice—not to wound, but to guide you in truth. Don’t let fear or guilt silence what’s right. Kindness speaks gently, but it still speaks. So, when God convicts you to speak, obey before it’s too late.
PRAYER POINT:
Abba Father, help me use my voice with wisdom and grace. Teach me when to speak and how to love with truth. May my silence never protect what harms, in Jesus’ name.
AMEN.
